Para realizarlo simplemente se necesita una muestra de heces del paciente.
Heces
Los días previos no se requiere hacer una dieta especial.
Recoger una cantidad de heces similar al tamaño de una nuez en un frasco estéril de boca ancha y de cierre hermético.
Evitar la contaminación de la muestra de heces con orina y/o agua.
Si se solicitan varias muestras de heces seriadas (2 o 3) recomendamos que se entreguen las heces en el laboratorio a medida que se vayan recogiendo, procurando que siempre sean de días diferentes.
Trasladar la muestra urgentemente al laboratorio para su posterior análisis. Si por cualquier circunstancia se retrasase el envío, pueden conservar el frasco refrigerado en nevera a 4ºC de temperatura durante unas horas. No deben introducirse las heces en el congelador.
En el caso especial que la muestra de heces deba ser recogida mediante escobillón, hay que destacar que necesitaremos un escobillón exclusivo para la investigación de sangre oculta, que no podrá ser compartido para realizar otras pruebas en heces. Intentar impregnar bien el algodón del escobillón con contenido fecal.
¿Se requiere ayuno o dieta especial?
Para este análisis clínico no es necesario ayuno ni dieta especial.
